September 23, 2024 – San Diego, CA – Ramona Community Foundation (RCF), a regional affiliate of San Diego Foundation, has awarded $57,500 to 15 local nonprofit programs that demonstrate the power to build a more vibrant community.

“From books to food to access to healthcare, RCF has selected 15 nonprofits committed to improving the lives of Ramona residents of all ages,” shared Robert Krysak, RCF Board Chair. “We are confident their programs will build a more vibrant community and will continue to help those who need it most.”

In its 13 years of grantmaking, RCF has granted more than $500,000 to over 100 nonprofit programs that strengthen the quality of life for all who live, work and enjoy Ramona.

The 2024 – 2025 grantees include:

  • American Academy of Pediatrics, California Chapter 3 (AAP-CA3) – $ 1,000 for diverse children’s books for TrueCare Ramona Reach Out and Read.
  • ArtReach San Diego – $ 4,500 for Bolstering Creativity, Community and Belonging at Ramona Elementary.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego – $ 5,000 for its Culinary Arts Program.
  • The Burn Institute – $ 2,500 for Fire Safe Seniors in Ramona.
  • Feeding San Diego – $ 4,500 for the Ramona Mobile Pantry.
  • Girls on the Run San Diego – $ 4,500 for its programs that teach essential life skills to individuals of all abilities in Ramona.
  • Hearts and Hooves Therapy Inc. – $ 3,500 for on-site sessions and off-site visits.
  • TrueCare – $ 4,500 for increasing access to healthcare for Ramona’s uninsured residents.
  • Ramona Senior Center – $ 4,500 for its Senior Nutrition Project.
  • Ramona Town Hall – $ 2,500 for general support.
  • Ramona Elementary School-Sensory Room – $4,500 for students with moderate-severe disabilities at Ramona Elementary School.
  • Robin’s Nest Rescue – $ 2,500 for Side by Side: The Greatest Need Project for Ramona veterans.
  • San Diego-Imperial Council, Boy Scouts of America – $ 4,500 for the Youth of Ramona Day Camp.
  • Trauma Intervention Programs of San Diego Inc. – $4,500 for Ramona crisis intervention.
  • Voices for Children – $ 4,500 for its Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program.
